![Pendente ancoriforme ⚓
Recortados de finas placas de osso de seção retangular, os ancoriformes são peças verdadeiramente excecionais:
Enquadráveis no 3.º milénio a.n.e., estes pequenos objetos apresentam um orifício na sua parte superior, sugerindo a sua suspensão, motivo pelo qual foram já interpretados como elementos de ornamentação do corpo.
O nome deriva da sua morfologia que lembra uma âncora, assemelhando-se também a alguns motivos da arte rupestre do mesmo período, interpretados como representações esquemáticas do corpo humano.
O número de exemplares conhecidos é reduzido e é frequente a fragmentação das suas extremidades, possivelmente face à dificuldade de produção – algo que nos foi possível reconhecer com as nossas primeiras tentativas, que se quebraram.
O nosso ancoriforme não é uma réplica, mas é inspirado pela peça datada de 3300-2700 a.n.e. da Cova de la Barcella (Alicante). O nosso ancoriforme é feito numa placa de osso de vaca eticamente recolhida.

‘Anchoriform’ pendant ⚓
Cut from thin bone slabs of rectangular section, the ‘anchoriforms’ are truly exceptional pieces:
Dating back to the 3rd millennium B.C.E., these small objects have a hole in their upper section, suggesting their suspension, which is why they have been interpreted as objects for body adornment.
Their name derives from their morphology which looks like an anchor, in a similar style to some designs in the rock art of the same chronology, which have been interpreted as schematic representations of the human body.
The number of known pieces is low and they frequently have fragmented edges, possibly because of their challenging manufacture – something we were able to acknowledge with our first tries that broke.
Our ‘anchoriform’ is not a replica, but it is inspired by the piece from 3300-2700 B.C.E. from Cova de la Barcella (Alicante, Spain). Our anchoriform is made in ethically sourced cow bone slab.
