IDEALS
BEYOND ART
At Idolarte, we aim to promote cultural and artistic elements from the Prehistory of the Iberian Peninsula through our pieces inspired by them. We hope to create a bridge between archaeological knowledge, heritage dissemination, and artistic creation, through which people can touch, feel, interact with, use, enjoy, and appreciate objects of ancestral inspiration.
EXPERIMENTATION
Although this is not an Experimental Archaeology project, experimentation is the catalyst for the pieces produced, since our initial ideas stemmed from the curiosity to understand how the prehistoric objects that inspired us were made. In this way, Idolarte combines prehistoric technology with current technology.
SUSTAINABILITY
Protecting the environment and avoiding waste are very important aspects for us. That's why we try our best to ensure that the raw materials used are fully utilized, by calculating the amount of material each piece needs, so that we can use the remainder to make pieces of different sizes. On the other hand, although we collect some raw materials ourselves, when we sometimes buy others, we try to find the most sustainable and local solutions available.
ETHICS
We use natural raw materials, such as stone, clay and wood, and raw materials derived from animals, such as bones and antlers of deer and fallow deer.
All of our animal-derived pieces are ethically sourced and cruelty-free. No animals were killed to obtain bones for our pieces. The bones and antlers used result from the reuse, transformation, and upcycling of materials that would otherwise be wasted, found by us or through donation.
